Alitalia has joined the Air France-KLM Delta Air LinesF0; transatlantic joint-venture (JV) in order to increase the number of destinations it can serve. Alitalia representatives will immediately join the JVF0;s 11 working groups responsible for implementing and managing network, revenue management, sales, product, frequent flyer, advertising/brand, cargo, operations, IT, communications and finance. The addition of AlitaliaF0;s services means the JV will be able to offer an additional 20 daily transatlantic flights to five US destinations from Rome and Milan Malpensa. This brings the total number of daily flights on offer by the JV to almost 250. The JV now represents about 26% of total transatlantic air freight capacity, with annual revenues estimated at more than US$10 billion. Alitalia has signed-up to the joint-venture until at least 31 March 2022. |
